PaperArtsy Theme 5: Deconstruction

The new PaperArtsy challenge is about Deconstruction - using a product for something it wasn't designed for or taking something apart and reconstruct it in some other way.
Again, I was limited a bit by my journal so I needed to stay relatively flat. I was considering doing something more dimensional (I have so many odd thingies I could repurpose in my stash) but I'd decided to have all the challenges in one journal so I had to think flat...
I always wanted to do something with zippers - I have seen so many lovely pieces in Finnabair style but again, this is too dimensional for my journal. So, in the end, the only dimensional element is the zipper itself:

PaperArtsy Theme 4: Miniature Art

I was slightly at a loss with the new PaperArtsy challenge. Miniature Art? I'm doing the challenges in a journal so I'm limited a bit by what I can use on my page. I was thinking about all the options I had - I could do some miniature thingy on the cover but I'm not ready to paint the cover yet... or... I could do some miniature element on the journal page itself - but the layout would have to "compliment" the miniature in some way... At this point, I was even considering skipping this challenge out.
The best option seemed to be the shrink plastic but I didn't know how to use it on a page. But luckily, I have two 3km journeys to/back from work a day to let my mind wander... Walking can be so inspiring...

When in doubt, do what you know the best. I decided to return to one of my trusted techniques. (Find more about this technique here.)

Love (challenge)

I painted this journal page for a "Love" challenge in February. I was working in my Moleskine journal I use for the Documented Life Project.
